Double Blue
During the Boxing Week "sales" I decided to take the leap and scale down the gear load. My research brought me to the conclusion that the Fujifilm XT-1 would suit me perfectly. It was still new to me when I rejoined my local camera club and took it along to my first meeting. It just so happened that this was the week when they had set up various stations for trying out some photography techniques. Water droplets was one of them and I decided to give it a go. On a borrowed tripod, I set up my Fuji XT-1 to the suggested settings (f/16, manual focus, bulb). I found that about 8 seconds allowed me to capture some abient light as well as the splash which was frozen by the flash. Keeping the shutter open for two flash splashes and moving the camera slightly between the flashes created this double exposure. There were 3 of us crowded in around the setup and at 135 mm I wasn't able to get too close. This is a major crop of the original image. Contrast and colour adjusted - the setup was basically white and I liked the added touch of blue. What a fun evening!
